Practise an Orchestral Part in 25 Minutes
Not from the top. Never from the top. The 25-minute plan with the clock built in: listen, entries, hard bars, real dynamics, one run. A free card to keep by the stand.
Print it and it lives in the front of your folder; save it to your phone and it is there at the rehearsal break. It is free, and there is nothing to sign up for.

Minutes 0 to 3: listen to a recording with the pencil out and mark the bars you cannot yet play. 3 to 7: entries only, counted in and played at the written dynamic. 7 to 15: two hard bars at half speed, the metronome up six or eight beats per minute at a time, and the bars either side of the join. 15 to 20: the exposed bits at their real dynamic. 20 to 25: one run, no stopping, and tomorrow’s list marked. Three rules close the card, including why twenty-five minutes on five days beats two hours on Sunday.

This card pairs with the free practice guide for your instrument — all twelve are on the Guides hub — and with the other reference cards on the Cards hub.
The plan needs one more ingredient: something to run the passage with. On MaestroMeet you play your part with the score scrolling in front of you and the rest of the orchestra around you, so what this card teaches has something real to land on. MaestroMeet is opening soon — join the waitlist to be among the first to play.
