Why your sound arrives late and from behind, and what to do about it. Where the pitch goes: the right hand as a second tuning slide, the F and B flat sides compared, and the stopped-note fingering rule. Placing entries, on the principle that accuracy is a hearing problem before it is a lip problem. The passages that are harder than they look, from quiet chorales to fast tonguing below the stave. Listening down and matching across, and counting rests as carefully as you play notes.
